The Green Machine

ZMR250 Paint Mod.

Parts list:┬áIf you’re interested in the parts that this quad has on it, please see the information here!

I recently destroyed my cheap lipo charger, so I’m grounded until my replacement arrives. As a result, I thought it might be a good opportunity to do some painting and LED-adding.

I have this snowboard, and was inspired by the color scheme. Wanted to carry it over to my ZMR.

The inspiration for the rebuild.

Started taping up the frame. Cover the whole thing with tape, and then use a pretty sharp knife at a 45 degree angle down and away through the tape and it comes off pretty well, holding the shape of the frame.

Just lathered on the spray paint. I did 3 layers in all on both sides.

Once the third layer of spray paint on the second side dried, I was able to start using polyurethane to coat the whole frame. This (1) protects the paint from coming out, and since the ZMR250 frame is very.. chaulky and doesn't have a very good finish, it makes it really shiny and attractive looking.

And here's what they looked like up close when it was all done and dry. Whole thing took about 2 days (because I'm overly cautious about letting paint dry.

Started putting the frame back together, and got pretty excited.

front LEDs
I had been wanting to add some LEDs to the front and back to help with orientation (I don’t have any FPV gear, yet) so I took this opportunity. Red on the front, and green on the back.
These are the Green LEDs on the back of the quad.
